Will Newland, Dan Schwender, and myself at the Thalia / Vans opening. If Dan wasn’t so happy I would say we were a pissed off crew. Thanks Dan for blowing our cover!

Andy Davis and I made this logo some years back.. (1996?). He just asked me to send it to him again. Should be interesting to see what he has in store with it again.
Sinaloa is really a great state in Mexico. Lot’s of story. Off the coast though, the fishing can be really amazing. Ask Tony Larson. While heading about 100 miles out, a school of dolphin decided to follow us to our destination.

Had to build an ad real quick for Thalia Surf that will be in an up and coming release of Monster Children magazine. I didn’t have much time to do the ad, pretty much an hour. It had to get in right away. This was the choice from the crew at the shop.
Shot this while flying over Tavarua (Cloudbreak) on my way back to the airport (Nadi). Didn’t surf it, but it was good the whole week prior at Frigates Pass, so it must’ve been good here too.

It’s about that time for the days to grow shorter, the crowds to leave, and the waves to get better.
Best time of the year!

Ben Horton, the artist / owner of $LAVE Skateboards is getting ready to release a new skate film on 9/11. I have been helping him release mini ‘commercials’ by building unique web pages. The way the pages are built, it’s pretty low tech, and the content isn’t about how many skate tricks you can get into a 15 second typical commercial spot. They have a bit of humor, cynicism, and grit that I have always liked about skateboarding.
The entrance to a taco shop on 4th St. in San Diego has this clown in front of it. Creepy.

She was standing on it a minute after I took the photo. Has nothing to do with her behavior though.

Went downtown for my brothers bachelor party. Ended up straggling through the streets, and ended up at an irish bar, Patricks II. Didn’t plan on seeing live music that night, but ended up getting some blues from longtime blues player, Billy Magee. Shit was tight!!
